Comedian Tony Hendriks
Tony Hendriks established himself as a household name in Jamaica due to five seasons of the hit TV show Paleface Point Of View (CVM TV) and the award winning comedy revue Laugh Jamaica which he wrote, produced and starred in and which sold out at over 100 shows in Jamaica with subsequent tours in the US and UK. Due to its success Laugh Jamaica went on to be broadcast on British TV and to date the video has sold over 50,000 copies in Jamaica, the US and the UK. After being voted Best Jamaican Comedian 1999 and 2000, Tony decided to move to the UK where he has appeared as 'Uncle Bertie' in The Crouches (BBC1), won a Race In Media Award as co-host of I Love Carnival (BBC Radio London), and performed his multi-character, one-man play Brixton Road Portraits to packed houses at the Hackney Empire (Bullion Room) and all over the UK. He won the ITI Best Actor Award for his work in Derek Walcott's "Pantomime", Best Supporting Actor for Edgar White's "I, Marcus Garvey" and has appeared films such as The Lunatic (Island), The Firm (Paramount) and Going to Extremes (Lorimar). TV credits include Caribbean Uncovered (SKY) and Brain Candy (BBC3). In addition, Tony is on Island Stylee (Air Jamaica's in flight TV show) and headlines shows as a comedian all over the USA, UK, Europe and Caribbean, including many corporate functions.
